This budget minded project demanded practical needs be met including more light (both natural and artificial), storage and a more modernized, timeless appeal.  All were well delivered by removing all the paneling and interior walls and replacing them with warm yellow wall hues and crisp, fresh white doors, trim and cabinetry- all formaldehyde free surfaces and finishes.

Warm, bold colors were the only thing needed to make this dramatic change from a cold and dated fireplace area to a more contemporary yet timeless makeover.  All finishes are non-toxic including AFM Safecoat tinted drywall primer, wall paint, brick primer and enamel paints.  The floors were refinished using AFM Polyureseal BP.  The new furnishings were chosen to provide the ultimate in family comfort.

This 20 year old home in Greenville, SC had not been renovated because of the owner's concern that the materials and finishes used in the renovation process would introduce toxic chemical pollutants into her air, which she is very sensitive too. I started out as a healthy home consultant and ended as her interior designer as well.

With low visual impact as the goal, this house is beautifully nestled in the woods upon a mountain with plenty of privacy and lots of natural habitat. Very few, if any, trees were planted.

This project was dark green from the beginning. The client had specific needs due to her battle with MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) and my job was to help make her home as safe as possible.  So I was a part of the project in the conceptual stages, which is right where I can do my best work.

Cindy's ability to use color, unusual materials, and the natural environment to create a sense of place is why I've used her talents previously and why I will choose her again for our next home.
