Mold, Radon, Lead and Asbestos Test Kits
These test kits are do-it-yourself versions with an option to send them to a lab for a $35 test. Each one offers 3 different analytical sampling methods. For example, the Mold test kit involves the following:
1. Visual sampling: involves taking a sample of actual mold growth you can see.
2. HVAC air sampling: involves taking an air sample from your air conditioning or heating system.
3. Settling Plate: involves taking an air sample from a location that is not climately controlled by an HVAC system.
After 48 hours (incubation period), you may want to send your mold sample to the lab specified in the test kit—for a detailed analysis giving you more exact counts and types of mold. This information is useful to allergy sensitive individuals and for remediation protocals for your home.
